Indonesia’s Public Holidays and Joint Leaves for 2024

Posted by Written by Ayman Falak Medina Reading Time: < 1 minute

Indonesia observes various public holidays throughout the year, classified into four categories: religious, national, international, and commemorative. National holidays, known as “red dates” (“tanggal merah”) on the calendar, result in the closure of government offices, schools, banks, and most businesses. Besides official public holidays, the government designates “joint leave days” to encourage domestic tourism. On these days, public servants are given leave, while other groups continue to work.
